It is extremely simple to use and can keep annoying passengers occupied for hours. It has never once failed to take me to my destination and I have a notoriously bad sense of direction. Ok so now we have established the need for Satnav the question is which one to go for?
There are so many different makes to choose from. However, a consistent winner with magazine polls and customers is TomTom. All their models contain great mapping, fast-lock on and ease of use. TomTom also continue to refine and improve their models making them slimmer and more stylish. If that isn’t enough they also add great extras, such as, Bluetooth handsfree for your mobile and the ability to obtain traffic, speed cameras and weather reports whilst in your car. All of these features combine to make TomTom the all time favourite satellite navigation brand. It is hard to see any of their competitors catching them as they are continually updating to keep up with customer demands.
Ok so now we have placed TomTom at the top of the pack the question is which model to go for. If you want to get ahead of the trend this year then I would suggest the latest version of TomTom’s award winning navigation software the GO 720 (with European maps) for £330 as the top choice or its sister version GO 520 (British maps only) for £290. this new model is not only the most advanced technically with ground-breaking features, such as, daily map improvements and speech recognition it is also slim enough to fit in a handbag without looking conspicuous and has a quality finish.
“The new TomTom GO range sets the standard in smart car navigation,” says Harold Goddijn, TomTom’s chief executive officer. There are other options on the market such as Garmin, Navman and Sony, who all have their own ranges. However, the winner for us is still TomTom and we believe that this will be reflected this Christmas.
