#9 - Clocky - Clocky is, quite simply, for people who have trouble waking up. It is an alarm clock that runs away and hides (as well as beeping like mad!). Clocky gives you one chance to get up, but if you press snooze (which lets face it, we all do), Clocky will jump off of your nightstand and wheel around your room looking for a place to hide.

Clocky began life as a class project for engineering student Gauri Nanda, who confesses to the need for a more successful mechanism to wake her up than your standard alarm clock, and after graduating she turned him into a well-crafted design. Clocky leaps off your nightstand and drives around your room, making random turns and racing away from your grasp. Now you have to get out of bed and hunt him down to be able to turn him off! The idea is that because you employ multiple senses to find the clock, you are sure to be awake before disabling the alarm. Possible the worst and the best present to be given this year so why not purchase one for your favourite relative!
Clocky has been described as “R2D2 on Red Bull crossed with a crazy rooster.” This clock is incredibly obnoxious but also extremely effective. Lets face it most people are incapable of getting out of bed without a little bit of persuasion so why not add a bit of fun to your mornings chasing Clocky? He is also amazingly clever. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you will become accustomed to his routine. This smart little clock is always on the lookout for new places to hide. Under the bed? Behind the door? Beneath the table? Clocky just keeps you guessing with his internal computer continually out-smarting you. Clocky’s inventor wants people to see him as that “troublesome pet that you love anyway” and I think that the fact that I have referred to Clocky as ‘he’ and not ‘it’ throughout this review backs this hope! This cute little clock should definitely make it under your tree this year!
